Glimmer of Humanity
The news today is full of negativity, all we hear about are acts of violence that cause us to cringe and rethink the civility of humanity. But today, we have stumbled on a story that inspires, and restores hope in humanity. The story of Billy Ray, a homeless man, who spends his time at street corners begging strangers for spare change. On this faithful day, a woman who found it in her heart to spare some change, accidentally put her engagement ring into Billy's change cup. It wasn't until the next day that she realized she had misplaced her ring. An ordinary person by then would have pawned the ring that same night, but no, not Billy, he held on to it in the hopes that the nice lady would return to claim it. Which she did. Billy happily returned the ring to her, and she thanked him with all the cash she had. This story caught the attention of a local reporter and exploded through the news scene, and was featured on CNN. It is such an inspirational story that someone who has so little, can still maintain their humanity, and spurs everyone to do the same. A charity fun has been started in honor of Billy, to help get him back on his feet.

The Stars Are Upon Us
All STAR Weekend is upon us!
For those individuals who are not avid basketball fans, or creatures of the Houston night life, do not fret you shall not be left in the dark. All STAR Weekend is the of the year when celebrities ranging from Charles Barkley and Shaq (whom i was graced to meet last night as they made their appearance at Live at Bayou Place) to Kirko Bangz and Mary JBlige. Houston will be packed this weekend, Night Clubs will be Booked, and cover charge to gain entrance will be through the roof. All in all it shall be great for the economy in houston, for the Celebrities must eat, sleep, shop, and make their presence know. And they shall do what they do best, which is spend money. Last night Charles Barkley announced that "all shots for the next 15 mins are on me", causing a stampede to the bar. If you are fortunate enough to make it into one of these fine establishments this weekend, make sure not to make the mistake i made by not bringing my cellular device to take pictures with the aforementioned celebrity.

Whats The Stitch

Superbowl Weekend is upon us, and the buzz all over is will Ray Lewis lead the Raven unto a season and career ending win against the heated up 49ers and their unstoppable quarterback kaepernick.
It comes as a surprise to most that the Ravens, with such a loaded roster of superstar players have not been to the Superbowl in 12 years, even though the Ravens have made it to the Playoffs 5 years in a row. But do not underrate the 49ers, their dynamic use of offense and defense has held their opponents to an average of 17 points per game. And are the Superbowl's favored team to win. The 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepenick has been said to be one of the hardest quarterbacks to contain, which will prove most challenging for Ray Lewis and his line on Sunday.
Not surprisingly, the main attraction this sunday will not necessarily be the football game, but the Superbowl commercials. Superbowl sunday has proved to be the most interesting day in commercial history, and any company that has enough money in the bank to land a slot is sure to deliver greatly.
So if you have no plans this sunday, make arrangements to sit back, sip on some refreshments, and enjoy this annual event.
